Generative AI Tools

Move from Proof-of-Concept to Production in Regulated Environments

May 19, 2026

The Generative AI Tools symposium focuses on the shift from experimentation to execution and how life science organizations are deploying GenAI in real clinical, regulatory, and R&D environments. In 2025 we highlighted what GenAI could do; in 2026 we focus on what is actually working. Sessions cover enterprise content-generation platforms, regulatory documentation automation, ambient clinical documentation, multi-cloud research environments, and GenAI-enabled trial operations. Speakers will share lessons learned in validation, governance, audit readiness, and scaling safely. Designed for scientific, technical, and R&D IT leaders, this symposium delivers practical frameworks for moving GenAI systems into compliant, high-impact production.

From Models to Mindsets: The AI Translation Framework for Scaling Generative AI and Building Organizational Capacity

Salim Afshar, Assistant Professor, AI Translation Lead, Health Systems Innovation Lab (HSIL), Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Generative AI transforms organizations only when treated as a system, not a set of tools. This session introduces AI translation as the discipline that moves life-science enterprises from fragmented pilots to integrated value. Drawing on global projects, it examines how leadership vision, data infrastructure, and organizational learning harmonize to build capacity, steward responsible adoption, and translate models into outcomes that matter.

Transforming CTD Authoring: A GenAI-Driven Approach

Edouard Michoud, PhD, AI Lead, Regulatory Data Digital & AI, Sanofi Group

Sanofi's Global Regulatory Affairs has developed two innovative GenAI platforms to transform Common Technical Document (CTD) authoring processes. The CTD Self-Service Platform facilitates draft content generation across multiple document sections, while HAQA leverages historical health authority Q&A data to generate consistent responses. These platforms, integrated into regulatory workflows, demonstrate significant efficiency gains with 80% CTD coverage, marking a paradigm shift in regulatory documentation management.

9:55 am Behavry.ai—Authorizing AI Agents in Regulated Life-Sciences Environments

Ward Spangenberg, Founder and CEO, Behavry

AI agents are moving into production across R&D, regulatory, and clinical workflows—but authorization hasn't kept pace. Behavry is inline authorization infrastructure that evaluates every agent action before execution, enforcing data use agreements, protecting IP, and generating audit-ready decision traces. Built for regulated environments where unauthorized action is not an acceptable outcome.

10:10 am AI-Driven End-to-End Validation for Computerized Systems in Life Sciences: Accelerating Compliance and Quality

Ravinder Singh, Global Vertical Head, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Tech Mahindra

Ensuring compliance and validation of computerized systems in life sciences is a critical yet resource-intensive process, traditionally involving manual checks, documentation, and risk assessments. This presentation introduces an AI-powered solution that automates end-to-end validation, transforming how organizations achieve regulatory compliance while maintaining data integrity and system reliability. Attendees will gain insights into how AI can modernize validation practices, ensuring faster innovation without compromising regulatory standards.

Designing AI-Powered Workflows: A Practical Toolkit for Product Leaders

Manasi Ghogare, Senior Technology Product Manager, Digital Health, Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

AI now appears on nearly every product roadmap, yet turning AI capabilities into products that are trusted, governed, and actually used in practice remains a central challenge—especially in complex, regulated domains. This session takes a workflow-centric perspective, treating AI not as a standalone feature but as an integral part of end-to-end technical workflows that span people, processes, and systems. Drawing on applied experiences in digital health, governance, and AI, the talk will outline concrete design principles and patterns for integrating AI into real-world work. We will examine how to map existing workflows and identify appropriate points for AI intervention; define human–AI collaboration modes and decision rights; and redesign workflows so that AI reduces friction rather than adding steps or risk. A particular emphasis will be placed on governance: how to embed accountability, data stewardship, and feedback mechanisms into AI-powered workflows so they remain safe, auditable, and improvable over time. This session is ideal for product leaders who are being asked to “add AI” and need a structured way to respond. Attendees will leave with a practical toolkit—anchored in governance and  workflow design—that they can apply to build AI-enabled products that are reliable, responsible, and aligned with real-world practice

LLM Agents for CRO Data Processing: Automating Validation, Troubleshooting, and Communication Loops

Kevin Klicki, PhD, Informatics Engineer, Montai Therapeutics

Outsourcing R&D to Contract Research Organizations requires precise coordination. Data, metadata, and material transfers between internal teams and CROs often create miscommunication, fragmented workflows, and extended timelines. We present an agentic AI solution that validates data return formats and empowers CRO personnel to align their outputs with internal data schemas before reaching scientists, reducing manual curation and accelerating downstream analyses.
