Conference Tracks:

Track 2 image

TRACK 1:

IT Hardware for the Life Sciences
The ability to integrate data from multiple independent data repositories across an organization into a specialized data warehouse environment for analysis and data mining is a daunting process. This track explores the technical requirements for efficient data storage, management, and movement. Topics include data workflow management and alternatives to conventional computing clusters.

TRACK 2:

Bioinformatics for Genomics
Conquer the genomics data deluge by applying informatics tools to go beyond SNPs, CNVs, GWAS, sequencing, and gene expression studies to integrate and comprehend the function of genes from the genotype to phenotype level. Hear presentations on mapping mismatches, fingerprinting BAC libraries, quantitative binding of transcription factors to DNA, modeling the regulatory assembly of spliceosomes, and detecting putatively functional genetic polymorphisms. Interact with bioinformatic researchers from febit biomed, Georg-August-University, Keygene NV, Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics Computational Biology, Parc Cientific de Barcelona, Uppsala University, and the University Claude Bernard.

TRACK 3:

IT Software for the Life Sciences
This track explores information technology & business process integration; open and collaborative platforms; data modeling, storage management, and analysis tools; as well as ontologies and semantic web.  Featured case studies will explore how to leverage computer systems and database management in support of drug discovery and development processes.

TRACK 4:

Data Integration and Knowledge Management
This track focuses on the transformation and management of data from -omics technologies, biomarker discovery and systems biology in order to improve R&D productivity and decision making across an organization. It’s a unique forum to learn how others are breaking down silos, integrating data sources and making R&D decisions faster and more effectively. Topics include leveraging informatics to drive innovation & productivity in drug discovery, integrating chemistry and biology data, data mining, enabling translational research through informatics tools, knowledge management and pathway analysis and integration. Organizations to speak include Pfizer, M.I.T., AstraZeneca, European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Novartis, and the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO).
